Creekside Retreat is a three-bedroom holiday retreat in Little Petherick, North Cornwall, owned and run by the family. This page explains what we do with the small amount of information the website handles. The short version: we keep enquiry emails so we can arrange your stay, we count page visits if you let us, and we don't sell or share anything.
Enquiries
When you email or phone us about a stay, we keep your name, contact details and the dates you asked about. We use them to answer you, hold your booking and sort out practical details like arrival times. We keep booking records for seven years because tax law requires it; enquiry emails that don't lead to a booking are deleted within a year.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and roughly where visitors come from. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which expire after two years. Nothing runs until you choose "Allow" on the cookie notice, and IP addresses are anonymised. Choose "Decline" and no analytics cookies are set at all.
Your choice is stored in your browser. To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the notice will ask again.
What we don't do
- No advertising or marketing cookies.
- No selling or sharing of your details with anyone, except the payment provider when you book.
- No mailing lists unless you ask to join one.
Third parties
The site loads fonts from Adobe Fonts, photography from Unsplash, map tiles from OpenStreetMap and a weather reading from Open-Meteo, and reads booked dates (dates only, no guest details) from our booking database hosted by Supabase. Each receives your IP address as part of serving the request, as any website resource does. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
Booking records themselves, the names and contact details of guests who stay, live in that Supabase database and are only accessible to us.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we've handled your data badly. We'd rather you told us first so we can put it right.
